VFX BREAKDOWN:
I was responsible for the desert mirror world portion of the job.
Unreal Engine was used to create the environment. The environment featured custom clouds and Joshua trees. For a close to life representation of the sky, the plugin Ultra Dynamic Sky was used.
The Joshua trees were modeled inside of Maya and XGEN was used to create the hairs on its surface.
The Joshua trees were textured inside of Substance Painter.
Shadows and reflections were treated in compositing on the live action car.
